MG MGB Additional Information
This is a lovely MGB Roadster which was fully rebuilt by its previous owner in the first three years of his ten year period of ownership. The car was completely stripped down and the shell taken back to bare metal, repaired with new panels as required, fully prepared and finally finished to a very good standard in MG Flame Red. The engine and gearbox were checked whilst out of the car and the clutch replaced. All the running gear was replaced, the suspension and brakes uprated, and the whole interior, hood frame and hood replaced. There are numerous photographs in the history file documenting the work which was carried out.
Following completion of the rebuild the car was used regularly but sparingly and covered some 11000 miles over the following seven years.
So what we have today is a totally solid and very pretty car which drives superbly and will give great pleasure for many years to come. The engine runs beautifully with no untoward noises and excellent oil pressure. The gearbox is one of the best I have encountered in an MGB and overdrive operates exactly as it should. The uprated brakes and suspension make a noticeable difference to the car's driveability and allow a more confident driving style than one might expect in an MGB approaching 50 years old! The interior is very attractive with good quality leather seats, excellent carpets and very good hood and frame. There is also a full tonneau cover with the car.
The current MOT runs until March 2019 with no advisories, the car is HPI clear and, of course, road tax is free.
